Following a worrying spate in violent crime in Battersea, with two fatalities in the last few months and another victim incurring life changing injuries, I held an adjournment debate on serious violence.

The Tories talk tough on crime but the data tells another story: a continued failure to confront violent crime, with serious violence up by 60% since 2015 nationwide.

I called on the government to act and finally take decisive action to tackle the epidemic of serious violence afflicting our country.
