On 2nd September, Marsha de Cordova MP participated in the unveiling of a Blue Plaque for the Booker Prize winning novelist, and critic, Penelope Fitzgerald – a woman who lived and worked in Battersea.
Her perseverance & courage in the face of adversity can inspire all of us.
The Blue Plaque will help to signpost Battersea’s rich history and – as the first blue plaque attributed to a woman within the area – helps to correct the historical erasure of women’s contributions to the constituency.
